Chewy had a pretty solid relationship with Leap Frog before I started working for them. Chewy had done a number of cartridges for Leap Frog's popular kid friendly 'toy' consoles (Click Start, Leapster, & Didj). The concept of the Zippity was based not only on fun educational gameplay, but also getting the kids to jump around on a mat (think Wii Fit for kids). I worked on the engine code for the Zippity that would be the basis for the rest of the games to come out on this platform. I also was responsible for game code in each of the following cartridges available for the system.
Cartridges:
- Disney Princesses (Jul. 2009)
- Disney Pixar Cars (Jul. 2009)
- Disney's The Princess and the Frog (Oct. 2009)
- Disney Pixar Toy Story 3 (Spring 2010)
Responsibilities:
- 2D sprite caching scheme
- 2D engine performance optimizations
- Gameplay
